Windows utility

Make Windows stop
wasting your PC.

Your computer is doing loads of things you never asked it to. Checking for updates. Sending usage reports. Running background services for features you don't use. Sitting on power settings tuned to save battery instead of go fast. Every one of those takes a slice of your machine. Humble Tweaks turns them off.

How you use it

Four steps. Nothing happens until you say so.

STEP 1

Pick a preset

Gaming, Privacy or Creator — or go through the categories yourself if you'd rather.

STEP 2

Read what it'll do

It lists every single change first, in plain English, before touching anything.

STEP 3

Say go

It applies them in the right order and writes down everything it did.

STEP 4

Changed your mind?

One button puts it all back the way it was.

Why it isn't scary

Most "optimiser" tools are a mystery script that edits your system and hopes for the best. This one shows its working.

  • Dry-run preview — see the exact steps and any warnings before running them.
  • A backup before every run — it tries to take a Windows System Restore point first. Plenty of PCs ship with System Protection switched off, so if it can't, it tells you instead of pretending, and its own per-run backup still covers the rollback.
  • Reversible — one button undoes a run. Two things it can't undo for you, and it says so up front: Store apps you chose to remove (reinstall them from the Store) and the advanced security-prompt settings, which you revert deliberately since you turned them on deliberately.
  • Stops rather than half-finishes — if a step needs admin rights it doesn't have, the run rolls back what it already did instead of leaving your PC halfway.
  • Full audit trail — every action logged, so you can always see what happened and when.

What it can tune

Twelve categories, all opt-in.

Performance

CPU scheduling, visual effects and the settings that trade prettiness for speed.

Latency & input

Network responsiveness and mouse behaviour — the things you feel in a game.

Telemetry

Stop the usage reporting that runs quietly in the background.

Services & debloat

Switch off background services and remove software you never installed on purpose.

Power plans

Including a "Ghost" plan that stops Windows throttling to save battery.

Cleanup

Clear out the temp files and caches that pile up over months.
